Their next discovery starts here
Make space for curiosity, creativity and the joy of learning. Explore a first lesson for your child.
Offer a small choice of open-ended materials, such as blocks, paper or crayons. Ask your child what they would like to make rather than deciding the outcome for them.
Give them time to explore. Describe what you notice, ask an open question and let them change direction. Keep materials age-appropriate and supervise as needed.
Let your child choose a book and settle into a comfortable spot together. Pause at a picture and ask what they notice or what might happen next.
There is no need to finish every page. Revisit a favourite scene, try a character’s voice or invite your child to tell the story in their own words.
Choose a familiar moment, such as getting dressed or preparing a snack. Name a few objects together and use the words in a short, natural sentence.
Repeat through songs, games and conversation without turning it into a test. Follow your child’s interest and welcome the languages your family already uses.
